Day 01 : Delhi
On arrival at Delhi by air you will
be met by our local representative who will assist you to board a vehicle to out
Hotel, afternoon we depart for local sightseeing of Delhi covering Rajpath, the
capital's broadest avenue, for a view of Parliament House, the President's House,
India Gate. Visit the Humayun's Tomb, Qutab Minar and Birla Temple. Eveining return
to Hotel. Overnight stay at New Delhi.
Day 02 : Delhi - Agra
After breakfast sightseeing tour of
Agra :
TAJ MAHAL- Built by Shah Jahan, the Taj is a white marble memorial to his
beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. This monument took 22 years to be completed and was
designed, and planned by Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design
balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted particularly for its elegant
domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen.
AGRA FORT- Fort built in red sandstone with its magnificent palaces, halls
of public and private audience and the beautiful gardens. This is where Emperor
Shah Jahan was kept under house arrest by his third son Aurangzeb and spent the
last year of his life viewing the Taj Mahal from across the river Jamuna.
Afternoon drive to Jaipur enroute visiting FATEHPUR SIKRI -the deserted red Sandstone
City, Emperor Akbar built that as his capital and palace in the late 16th century
is an exhilarating experience. It a veritable fairytale city and its "ruins"
are in pristine condition ... it's not hard to imagine what the court life must
have been like in the days of it's grandeur.
Arrive Jaipur & transfer to hotel.
Day 03 - Agra - Varanasi
After breakfast proceed for Agra - The city of Taj. Upon arrival chech -in hotel.
After lunch visit famous Taj Mahal built by the mughal emperor shah Jahan, in memory
of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. Also visit Agra fort. Evening transfer to railway
station to board overnight express train to Varanasi.
Day 04 - Varanasi
On arrival and transfer to hotel. Var4anasi is probably the oldest living city
in India and one of the world's most ancient. It was earlier known as Kasi - is
a city that can not be described, only experienced. Sunrise on the riverfront, as
seen from the board, can be a spiritually uplifting sight. After breakfast drive
to Sarnath - where Buddha preached his first sermon after he had attained enlightenment
at Bodhgaya. Visit the Ashok Pillar with its four guardian lions that has been used
as independent India's national emblem. On return back to Varanasi lunch at hotel
or in a local restaurant. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay
at hotel.
Day 05 - Varanasi - Bodhgaya
Early morning visit Ganga, bathing ghats and boat ride. After breakfast drive
to Bodhgaya. It is here that Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree,
the saplings of which can be seen in the temple premises. Upon arrival check in
hotel. After freshen up take your hot lunch at hotel. rest of the day at leisure.
Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06 - Bodhgaya
Full day visit Mahabodhi temple - The Bodhi tree, situated in the premises of
the temple, is the one under wich Buddha attained illumination. White, Green and
Red Flags, tied on to the tree, form a canopy over seven sadred shrines, which symbolizes
the seven weeks that Buddha spent here. Free to mediate in this holist spot of Buddhism.
Overnight Bodhgaya.
Day 07 - Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Patna
Morning depart for Rajgir. Rajgir was the capital of Magadh Empire around 800 BC.
This is evident from the remains of the cyclopean dry stone that once enclosed the
ancient city. Visit the Ajatshtru Fort. Venuvana, and the bamboo grove where Lord
Buddha spent some time. Located close is the Jivakamarvana Monastery (4-3rd BC).
After this take the cable car ride to visit the Visvs Shanti Stupa built by the
Japanese on top of Ratnagiri mountain. From here you can have a good view of the
Griddakuta Hill (the hill of vultures) from where Lord Buddha, delivered many important
sermons and also of the Sattapani Cave, where the First Buddhist Council was one
of the greatest monastic university for years. There is even monument to facilitate
Chinese traveller monk and writer hiuen Tsang who studied at this university in
th 7th century A.D. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 08 : Patna - Delhi
After Breakfast Transfer to Patna Airport and Evening Back to Delhi Airport.
